lorenzo ready to perform for Motegi

Yamaha has confirmed it will compete in the 2011 Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi in October with a full strength line-up of Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies.

The manufacturer's commitment had been in doubt due to safety concerns with the Fukushima nuclear plant, approximately 110km away, which was heavily damaged during the earthquake and tsunami that rocked the east coast of Japan in March.

Indeed, with several riders – including title contender Lorenzo, Casey Stoner and Valentino Rossi - voicing their concerns over the event, which is rescheduled to run on October 2nd and passed as safe by the FIM, there are fears that some won't make the trip.

Nonetheless, with less than a month to go before the event, Yamaha has now become the first factory team to formally commit to its home event, with both Lorenzo and Spies, adding that it will run in the red and white livery that commemorates its 50th WGP anniversary.

Problem Japanese MotoGP, Lorenzo Prioritizing Health

Jorge Lorenzo currently need the points to catch Casey Stoner in the MotoGP worldchampionship title race. However, it will not affect his decision related Japanese MotoGP.

The victory at Misano makes Lorenzo managed to cut the distance of Stoner in the championship. Which stood at 224 points, the Yamaha rider is now only behind 35 points from the rival who controls the top position.

Although the center takes a lot of points, attitudes about the Japanese MotoGP Lorenzounchanged. He's just going to go to Motegi when he was absolutely sure the circuit issafe from nuclear radiation.

As is known, by the earthquake and tsunami, the Japanese MotoGP title this year, postponed from April to October 2. However, a number of racers including Lorenzo's afraid to come to Japan because of the explosion of a nuclear reactor Fukushima which is about 124 km from Motegi.

"My decision about the Japanese will not depend on the championship. If I was sure togo, then I'll go," Lorenzo said in MCN.

"I do not care about the championship because as I always say, my priority is my health," he said.

Yamaha have confirmed that they will still participate in the Japanese MotoGP despiteLorenzo and Ben Spies will be absent. That is, they are likely to use the original Japanese test rider.

lorenzo's note : MISANO FINALLY!

Hello!"I really wanted to blog content, with good humor. The latter have been complicated, most of few words, not knowing what to expect. Today is different. We have won again and the truth is known to Misano win glory.
I like this circuit and I think it gives me quite well. No accumulation numbers Estoril, where I won three times in MotoGP, but I climbed the podium four times (one win and three second places). The weekend was almost perfect since Friday. We had difficulties in the first free practice, but from that evening we were very competitive.

The set-up and endure the heat, always using the camelback, the system we use for hydration and moisture were key to the battle. I thought the race would be much more complicated. Do not get me wrong, I do not say it was an easy win. Quite the contrary. I needed 13 runs to win from start to finish. But I thought I would move Casey at some point, which would have changed a bit the movie and had become a duel, mano a mano.

It's my third win of the season, but overall I am still far from Casey. We have recovered nine points and now we're going to Aragon we stand at 35 points. I hope this year is Motorland talisman, I need it. I have wanted to come and see people in my fan club. Last year I was not right with them, the results made me angry. So I owe you one.

Today we tested the 1000cc at Misano. The feelings are still good, but there is much work ahead. Both Ben and I have shot all day with the new Yamaha in the second practice we do. This evening we left by car to Milan for tomorrow visited the offices of Yamaha with Wayne Rainey, which will make it a special day. "

My triumph is obviously for him. See you in Aragon.

lorenzo's note : Graining DAMN!

I have two races to forget. Because of some bugs we are choices of title. But there are still many to attempt a comeback. I have confidence and hope is the last to be lost.

Casey is doing a flawless season. Has not committed a single mistake in the race and the only zero accumulated was to Jerez, where Rossi pulled. Otherwise have been scored in all.

In Indy was again unstoppable. Neither the asphalt that we have all been able to stop complaining. I was hoping to be ahead in the race, but the tires held up slightly, about five laps. The damn graining (consumption of the tire) has turned to dust. As we talked with the team, was fourth at the most one could hope for. The other hope was that Ben Casey won, but problems forced him out is making a big comeback.

Now we are 44 points apart. the new attempt to cut begins this weekend. I'm going to San Marino, bypassing the home. I hope to recover well until Friday.

On Thursday I go back to the circuit. First I have an event in my personal sponsor Rimini Hot Wheels and then the interviews and press conference at Misano. This time I have no special helmet and Yamaha brings the colors red and white.
I hope you have better luck without it. Misano I like, I have gotten great results in all categories, so be ready for battle.

A greeting

Yamaha Paint the Front Row Red and White at Indianapolis

Yamaha Factory Racing riders Ben Spies and Jorge Lorenzo scored the first double Yamaha front row of the year today in qualifying for tomorrow’s Grand Prix of Indianapolis. Local hero Spies continued to impress with the strong form in evidence from the beginning of the weekend. The qualifying session saw him quickly up to impressive speed. Despite repeatedly breaking under the pole time for the first two splits Spies was unable to topple Casey Stoner from the top spot so will start from second place for the race.

Reigning World Champion Lorenzo finally made a breakthrough mid-qualifying after struggling for the first three sessions to find a competitive set up on the newly surfaced Indianapolis track. A big set up change to his YZR-M1 with less than half the session to go changed his fortunes, allowing him to climb quickly up to third behind his team mate with two quick laps in succession. Lorenzo will now use the valuable warm up time tomorrow morning to test the consistency of the set up before the race.

Ben Spies
2nd

“It was good today, we didn’t have a fast lap in the end but we got on the front row. We did over 30 laps on a set of tyres and went quite quick at the end, still able to do 39s which is good. The last couple of laps we tried our hardest to catch Casey but with five minutes to go I think I ripped my tank spacer off that holds me back on the bike which didn’t help. I wasn’t disappointed as I knew we had a gap to fourth so we’d be on the front row. It wasn’t the perfect session and Casey was just too fast. I think the race will be different; the tyres will be pretty greasy after ten laps but my bike’s working really well on used tyres so we’ll see what happens.”

Jorge Lorenzo
3rd

“Qualifying was much better than the other three practices so far this weekend. I improved a lot and had a lot more confidence with the front, we changed one bike completely which worked. We are much more confident for tomorrow now. I would like to be closer to Casey, but seven tenths is better than one second and a half. It’s going to be a very tough race for everybody. The front tyre, especially on the left side is graining from the fourth lap so it’s going to be a complicated ride. Let’s see what happens.”

Wilco Zeelenberg

“Well I can say one thing, we finally found the right direction to go in which is where we struggled until half way through qualifying. With the bike adjustment we improved a lot, we fitted a qualifying tyre and Jorge pushed for two laps. The bike was stable and we were quite pleased with the result. Ben has been spot on the whole weekend and I think he will be a big contender for the victory for tomorrow. We need to find consistency now and see if we can improve a little bit more for the race.”

Massimo Meregalli

“The overall result is pretty good today, both riders are on the front row and there is no better way to start the race. Ben’s rhythm is very good so I am positive; we have done a really good job so far. Jorge improved every session and is now up there so I am expecting a really good battle tomorrow.”

Yamaha : no team order

Team Yamaha Factory Team Order will not apply in an effort to help achieve the tittle Jorge Lorenzo MotoGP World Champion 2011.

After the race, Lorenzo and his team felt the level of resistance offered by Rossi has been proportionate.

"Valentino taking too many risks and Jorge touched several times, which should not happen when Jorge tittle fight for the champion," said Lorenzo's team manager Wilco Zeelenberg.

Meanwhile Stoner, winner of six races this year, firmly against any team orders it.

"I never thought there must be absolutely Order Team," said Stoner. "This is not football. You are not completely on the same team, playing for the same .. We have the right of each of ourselves."

Maybe some do not know what it is TEAM ORDER.
Team orders is a term in motor racing championship which is a strategy from the team that issued the instructions to ridernya to deviate from the normal practice of racing towards his team-mates because they would fight the other team riders. For example, a team member who commands one of ridernya to let his teammate overtake, or ordered both drivers to hold position to maintain a good position without risk of collision.

This is generally done when one rider behind in certain races, but have the opportunity to earn the title. Team rider will then instruct them to arrange themselves on the track so give way to riders who need it most.

Spies took pole position and finishing in the top two at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway last season. "I always like to get hockey if you look at Indy," he said.

Lorenzo admitted optimist could rival Stoner. "I am currently 32 points adrift. There are still seven races, many points still up for grabs are all still rely on myself. So I will not give up," said Lorenzo.

Lorenzo claimed to have the experience two years ago. "When I was very fortunate to cut the points in Indianapolis with Valentino Rossi," recalls Lorenzo hopes to repeat the success in 2009 ago as Grand Prix in Indianapolis where she had her first podium.

So Lorenzo and his team prepared to face the Indianapolis GP. "We have picked up points lost as it has been assigned in the final race," said Lorenzo

"After the long break we are going to Brno completely recharged and ready to fight and try to reduce the gap with Casey. This is a track I like and where I won last year. I hope we can start the second half of the season on the podium. After the race we will be testing the 1000cc bike for one day. I am really looking forward to discovering the new Yamaha."

Ben Spies
“It’s been really cool to hang out at home with my friends and family in Texas and take a break from the racing. It was good to me in Superbike and we showed a lot of potential there last year, I nearly had pole position and think I could have challenged for a podium if I hadn’t suffered a frond end grip issue early in the race.”
