New Rules Motogp 2012

MotoGP Commission approved rule changes to the 2012 season.

Commission composed of Messrs. Carmelo Ezpeleta (Dorna, Chairman), Ignacio Verneda (FIM Executive Director, Sport), Herve Poncharal (IRTA) and Takanao Tsubouchi (MSMA) in the presence of Javier Alonso (Dorna), Mike Trimby (IRTA) and Paul Butler (Secretary of the meeting), in its meeting held on 14 December in Madrid.

The rule is that the contracted riders in the MotoGP class can also test the machine using the allocation of 240 tires are available for each manufacturer teams Previously such testing is limited to test riders only. In the interest of fair competition was also agreed that other class MotoGP riders are exclusively able to test their team's engine with a limit of 120 tires per rider.

It was agreed that motorists who do not qualify for the race based on their time in qualifying practice can qualify if they achieve at least equal to 107% of the fastest racer in the heating. This is in addition to previous regulations which only considered free practice session.

Under the rules of the MotoGP class riders started the race from pit lane because of the sanctions engine durability, it was agreed that in future they will start ten seconds after the green light is displayed at the exit of pit lane.

Riders in all classes can now use the machine on the grid beginners. For all classes of tire warmers are now possible remain in place until the display board one minute. Generators still must be removed on the board three minutes.

The minimum weight limit for the 1000cc engine in the MotoGP class will increase from the current 153 kg.

Front 2.50 "x 17"
3:50 rear "x 17"

An entry list of the MotoGP class for 2012 is considered by the Commission. The list contained nine entries plus one spare CRT entries using machines of various types. Participation of all entries CRT approved by the Commission on the understanding that the administration of the CRT status is reviewed by the Commission of the Grand Prix at any time
